Monday, December 19
Wanna go ice skating? Check out Skate New Haven’s schedule this week at Ralph Walker Rink.

The Fantasy of Lights drive-through display, open every day through New Year’s Eve from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and an extra hour Friday and Saturday, is back at Lighthouse Point Park (2 Lighthouse Rd, New Haven) for another holiday season. Admission is charged by the vehicle: $10 for a car or family van, $25 for a minibus and $50 for a full-sized bus.

In Yale’s Sudler Recital Hall, “faculty bassoonist Frank Morelli and his students” perform a free “Monty Python-inspired program titled Bassoonarama 2022: ‘And Now for Something Completely Different.’”

Wednesday, December 21 – Winter Solstice
Karaoke, a DJ and board games are the promise of Jazzy Cabaret’s Karaoke Holiday Party from 5 to 11 p.m.

East Rock Brewing Company hosts a Holiday Movie Trivia night starting at 6:30 sharp.

A Winter Solstice Goth/New Wave/Synthpop Video Party—where you can request that your favorite genre-specific music videos be added to the playlist—blasts The Cannon starting at 8.

Thursday, December 22
Bringing prime-of-life Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins back to life, Million Dollar Quartet Christmas, “a musical celebration jam-packed with classic holiday hits and favorite chart toppers,” comes to the Shubert at 8 p.m.

Friday, December 23
Singer/composer/pianist Isabella Mendes and bassist Flavio Lira, both born in Brazil, bring loungey, jazzy Latin music to Best Video in Hamden at 7 p.m.

“Open bar, christmas vibes, live music all night, giveaways, goodies, ho ho ho” is the pitch for the inaugural edition of the “gather social” series starting at 8 p.m. at Gather.

Saturday, December 24
A Christmas Eve Carol Sing presented by Center Church on the Green spans both the church and the green, starting with a “Service of Lessons and Carols” at 4 p.m. followed at 5 by a Christmas singalong around the city tree.

Sunday, December 25 – Christmas
Merry Christmas!

And if you don’t observe the holiday, or if you like your holiday with a twist, you can find “joyous, foot-tapping, tuchus-shaking arrangements… from Eastern Europe and other locales” at Hamden’s Congregation Mishkan Israel, where klezmer big band Nu Haven Kepelye perform their annual Christmas-timed community concert from 4 to 7 p.m.
