My Fair Lady returns to the big screen at 7 p.m. in North Haven and Milford.
Tuesday, February 6
At the Guilford Community Center, a 5 p.m. reception celebrates the opening of the Guilford Art League’s Winter Show. “Bring snacks to share.”
At 5:15 at Christ Church, Yale Consort, “a newly formed professional vocal ensemble… sponsored by the Yale Institute of Sacred Music,” performs “a service of Choral Evensong, focused on music, readings, and quiet contemplation. Through hymns, psalms, canticles, and reflections, the centuries-old tradition of Choral Evensong invites us to come together in stillness and prayer.”

National Magazine Award winner Carina del Valle Schorske discusses “literature and social justice” during a public talk in Yale’s Branford College at 6 p.m.
Thursday, February 8
At 7 p.m. at 53 Wall Street, the Yale Film Archive screens current Oscar nominee Perfect Days. The film follows a “Tokyo toilet cleaner,” in a story critic Namrata Joshi has called “a sublime validation of the ordinary, a film replete with grace, harmony, and hope that overwhelms and engulfs you in its humane world.”

Tea & Tarot in Madison hosts a 6:30 p.m. “Love Magick” workshop exploring an “art” in which “ancient spells and modern wisdom converge to manifest love, honor relationships, and deepen the connection with your most intimate self.”
At Yale’s Humanities Quadrangle, director James Ivory attends a 7 o’clock screening of his layered 1965 film Shakespeare Wallah. “With Bollywood on the rise, vagabond British Shakespeareans tour post-colonial India to dwindling audiences and a growing sense that an era has come to an end.”
Saturday, February 10
“Get a jump on the upcoming planting season” as Folly Delgado leads an 11 a.m. gardening workshop and seed swap at Fair Haven Library. And if you still need more seeds, Natureworks in Northford, technically closed for the season, is opening this weekend to offer “our huge collection of seeds curated from seven great seed companies, along with seed-starting supplies, organic soils, organic fertilizers, a huge tag sale AND a winter inventory reduction sale on many of our tried and true favorite products and tools.”
At 2 p.m., a seal walk led by “Ranger Russ” seeks out “seals that frequently bask… at low tide” near Meigs Point Nature Center in Madison. “Bring your binoculars.”
At Gather East Rock from 6 to 10, a “date my friend Powerpoint party” with a “semi-strict semi-formal dress code” invites some of us to “grab a single friend… and find them some love” via the sexiest method possible: a formal presentation. Pay-what-you-want tickets include “bottomless drinks and hors d’oeuvres” and the option to partake in “games and interactive activities”—and don’t require you to present.
At 7, Anthony’s Ocean View hosts a Valentine’s Dinner Dance featuring a six-course dinner, “top-shelf open bar” and live music from Timmy Maia.
Long Wharf Theatre’s monthlong production of A View from the Bridge opens at 7:30 in the Canal Dock Boathouse. “Set in 1950s Brooklyn, longshoreman Eddie Carbone harbors a subconscious and jealous affection for his niece, Catherine, whom he is raising with his wife. When distant cousins arrive unexpectedly from Italy and one of them falls for Catherine, Eddie takes drastic measures to protect his fragile American Dream.”
Sunday, February 11
Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services’s annual Run for Refugees, taking a five-kilometer route through East Rock, raises funds for IRIS to “help immigrants with housing, healthcare, job placement, education, and more.”
At 4, “New Orleans soul” singer-songwriter Mia Borders, who calls “soul, funk, rock, and blues… the foundation upon which she built her own unique style,” takes on Cafe Nine.
A ticketed Super Bowl party at Bregamos Community Theatre starts at 6 p.m. and offers food, beer and the game.
And if you prefer a different kind of game, Three Sheets hosts a Valentine’s Day-themed Scattergories night starting at 8.
