Daily Nutmeg, an influential online publication exploring the good and interesting things in New Haven, is seeking up a gifted writer to join its small editorial staff.
Title: Staff Writer
Commitment: Part-time and flexible, approximately 8-15 hours/week, with excellent growth potential for the right candidate.
Compensation: Salary plus approved expenses.
Responsibilities: Develop, write and photograph one or two high-quality feature stories per week, working closely with the editor.
The Ideal Candidate:
• is an exceptionally skilled and engaging writer, with a nose for rooting out interesting narratives;
• maintains high journalistic standards;
• hits deadlines;
• communicates efficiently and effectively behind the scenes;
• understands and values Daily Nutmeg’s unique editorial approach;
• balances a prodigious talent for the craft with a desire to keep growing as a writer;
• takes great photos; and
• resides in New Haven, CT, or very close by.
