From 5 to 9 p.m., New England Brewing’s Branford campus holds a Full Moon Night Market featuring 20 local vendors tinged with spiritual naturalism.
Thursday, July 30
At 7 p.m., The Cellar on Treadwell in Hamden holds the 37th edition of Storytellers in the Cellar, where troubadours Zach Andersen, Artaxnia, Jen Howard and Margot Miller will perform in the round, “taking turns singing songs and giving you the backstories behind them.”
At 8, Stella Blues hosts Sip & Link, “a night of friendly competition, cold drinks, and nonstop music. Challenge your friends to Beer Pong, Giant Connect 4, and a variety of other classic party games while DJ Martian keeps the energy high with an open-format mix of pop, hip-hop, Latin, EDM, throwbacks, and party favorites all night long.”

At 7:30 p.m. at Seymour’s old-fashioned movie theater, the Strand, the next Freakout Friday horror screening from CT Cult Classics promises “a few trailers, a trashy film and a lot of laughs.” The film this time is the truly trashy- and laughable-looking 1989 slasher Phantom of the Mall: Eric’s Revenge.
Saturday, August 1
From 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Howard K. Hill Funeral Services’ 10th Annual Community Car Show promises “a day of food, fun and great memories.”
RJ Julia in Madison’s annual Grand Waldo Celebration, the culmination of a monthlong Where’s Waldo? scavenger hunt, starts at 11 a.m. at the bookstore. “Wear your best red and white outfit. Waldo will make a guest appearance, pose for photos, and sign autographs! We will also have fun, family-friendly activities for all to enjoy.”
While you’re up the shoreline, from 2 to 4 p.m., Guilford Arts Center holds a closing reception for Walking Each Other Home, featuring works by 78 Connecticut artists. “Inspired by the beloved Ram Dass quote, ‘We’re all just walking each other home,’ the exhibition invites artists to reflect on the many ways we experience and define the idea of home.”
With a 5 p.m. curtain today and tomorrow, Eastbound Theatre performs Shakespeare’s The Tempest in Milford’s Eisenhower Park.
Riffing off of another Shakespeare title, New Haven’s own campy paranormal Youtube show Midnight Visitor presents A Midsummer Nightmare. The double-feature screening outside in the Citizens Television parking lot starts at 8 with the premier of the show’s seventh episode and finishes with the film that more or less birthed the zombie genre as we know it: Night of the Living Dead (1968). “Bring a seat!”
Sunday, August 2
From 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Bridgeport’s Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater hosts the Connecticut Pizza & Brew Fest. With a general admission ticket, get $3 cheese slices and complimentary beer samples from dozens of vendors—or spring for the VIP option, which features all-you-can-eat pizza to go with the endless beer.
The Walnut Beach Association’s 2026 Rockin’ the Beach Summer Concert Series opens at 4 p.m. with local stalwart party band Hype. “Bring a chair or blanket, a cooler, and come party by the beach!”
