Rising over New Haven on the fifth of October, by the early morning of the sixth it was smoky, watery, alive. Sweeps of thick and thin clouds curled past, waning and waxing Luna’s glow, lit up as if by slow-motion sheet lightning, tinged with orange like the lanterns of the quiet city below.
