Collectors’ Items

On view through Saturday, September 6, at the Institute Library, Precious: Gathering What We Love, a curated collection of people’s personal collections, is awash with intimacy, and not just in the case of an accumulation of used soap bars.

Here are some of the images I collected.

Written and photographed by Dan Mims. For image captions, check out the email edition. The gallery at the Institute Library is open during the library’s regular hours, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
