Along with anchor act My Druthers, the next Sea Shanty Night at Cafe Nine features an apparently very special guest performer: Jerry Bryant, “about as legendary as they come in the world of sea music” and “firmly establish[ed]... at the vanguard of today’s internationally renowned shantymen.” And he’ll be appearing as an apparently even more special guest performer: his rarely conjured alter-ego Salty Dick, “the bawdiest balladeer and saltiest scallywag most of us will ever hear.”

At 6 p.m. at the New Haven Museum, Pronounced Ah-Beetz co-curator and local “pizza guru” Colin Caplan interviews local pizza pioneer Doug Coffin, whose Big Green Truck fleet of mobile wood-fired pizza ovens, started in 2003 and still churning out delicious New Haven-style pies, was both of and ahead of its time.
Also at 6, the next Uncorked at Barcelona offers a chance to taste widely across the restaurant’s long wine list, this time focused on terroir. The event “open[s] 30 wines that we think are some of the clearest expressions of place out there” and pairs them “with seasonal paella and passed tapas.”
Also at 6, children’s entertainer Blippi comes to the Shubert for “a high-energy show packed with music, laughter and surprises featuring fan-favorites like ‘The Excavator Song,’ ‘Monster Truck,’ ‘Dino Dance,’ and ‘Curious Like Me.’”
At 6:30, New England Brewing Co.’s Woodbridge campus hosts a Feud Night (as in Family Feud). “Expect big guesses, louder reactions, and the kind of answers that make you wonder who actually filled out these surveys. Prizes will be on the line for our winning teams, along with bragging rights that will last well beyond the final round. Not playing? Come hang anyway.”
At 8, Space Ballroom in Hamden hosts The Aggrolites, a “band on a mission to remind modern audiences what proper ska sounded like, whether in Kingston in 1963 or London in 1979.” Listening to some of their catalog, it sounds like “proper ska” means an infectious blend of midcentury soul and era-hopping reggae.

At 6:30 and 8:30 p.m., the Shubert’s cabaret space hosts Stella Cole, a viral young singer whose “rich tone, extraordinary vocal control, and original interpretations breathe new life into American Songbook classics.”

The Connecticut Cult Classics movie screening series at Seymour’s Strand Theater takes advantage of Friday the 13th by showing Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan. Here’s a trailer.

The 2026 Greater New Haven St. Patrick’s Day Parade steps off at 1:30 p.m. from Sherman Avenue and Chapel Street, proceeding up Chapel before hanging a brief left on Church and an even briefer right on Elm, with things coming to a close around 4 p.m. Before then, from noon to 2 on the Green near that final turn, a Family Fun Zone features amusements, a petting zoo and food trucks.
At 6, Best Video in Hamden holds its 2026 Oscars Viewing Party, “a very special evening of glamour, good company, and great nosh.” Expect “trivia and more fun during commercial breaks” along with “a glass of champagne, light refreshments, and popcorn of course!”
Oh, and, as of today, it’s the next New Haven Restaurant Week, which is actually two weeks.
