Tuesday, August 9
At 11 a.m. outside City Hall, the Greater New Haven Peace Council marks the anniversary of the 1945 nuclear bombing of Nagasaki, Japan, and warns against current nuclear recklessness with โ€œpoems, community readings and a declaration from Nagasakiโ€™s mayor.โ€

Later, at 8:30, improv comedy troupe The Regicides go for laughs with an open-air show on their home stage at The Stack.

Wednesday, August 10
For the next Movies in the Plaza screening, which begins at 8:30 in Pitkin Plaza, three of director Wes Andersonโ€™s favorite playersโ€”Adrien Brody, Jason Schwartzman and Owen Wilsonโ€”play suited, sweat-drenched brothers rediscovering themselves and their love for each other in The Darjeeling Limited, which doubles as a tribute to its primary setting, India.

Yesterday through tomorrow with an 8 p.m. show tonight, Branfordโ€™s Legacy Theatre presents My Unauthorized Hallmark Movie Musical, a one-woman show that stars Broadway veteran Anne Runolfsson and seeks out a more realistic vision of romance.

Saturday, August 13
An open house at the Canal Dock Boathouse wades you through โ€œthe various boating opportunities that we have to offerโ€โ€”including kayaking, dragon boating and rowingโ€” from 8 to noon.

The 2022 Puerto Rican Festival of New Haven fills the Green with food trucks, live music and a career fair from 1 to 8.

Also starting at 1 (both today and tomorrow), the โ€œsingers, praisers, prayer, testimonies, food and moreโ€ of the 25th annual Gospel Fest animate Goffe Street Park.

Also starting at 1, Two Roads Brewing in Stratford presents a nine-hole popup mini golf course. A ticket to play gets you a chance at a raffle prize, with every hole-in-one getting you a chance at a bigger raffle prize.

On the Guilford Green, the 16th Annual Shoreline Jewish Festival, โ€œa celebration of Jewish life,โ€ features โ€œJewish music from around the world,โ€ โ€œdelicious Kosher fair favorites,โ€ an artsy vendor market and kidsโ€™ activities including โ€œinflatable slides, obstacle course and a variety of themed arts and crafts projectsโ€ from noon to 5.
