Tuesday, July 6
At 3 p.m. on ESPN, the first semifinal match of Euro 2020—the other semifinal happens tomorrow, with the final set for Sunday—presents a classic soccer matchup: Italy vs. Spain. If you like to watch with a crowd, The Trinity (157 Orange St, New Haven; 203-495-7736) is probably your best bet and might have both indoor and outdoor screens.

Friday, July 9
Weekly summertime series Ping Pong in the Plaza—Temple Plaza, west of Temple and south of Chapel—offers free “ping pong, corn hole, big Jenga and more” from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., weather permitting. “Bring your own snacks, beverages and opponents.”

Then bring them over to the Musical Intervention Open Mic Night, starting at 6:30 p.m. outside on Orange Street near Crown. “Stop by and show what you’ve got or listen to some talented singers from the crowd!” Free.

Saturday, July 10
The Connecticut Foraging Club “forage[s] for edible wild plants and mushrooms in Connecticut,” and you can join them at 10 a.m., when they’ll be meeting on Cold Spring Street between Livingston and Orange for a forage in East Rock Park.

The Fair Haven Library (182 Grand Ave, New Haven; 203-946-8115) hosts an all-ages Fair Haven Community Art Day from 11 a.m. to 2. “Join Latino artists from Fair Haven on collaborative art projects for our neighborhood!”

At 1 and 6 p.m., aerial dance, circus and movement studio Air Temple Arts (11 Research Dr, Woodbridge) presents Heaven or California: The Story of the Donner Party in the cul-de-sac outside its HQ. The ensemble production, complete with an original score, aims to bring the “hopes, dreams, and fears of the Donner Party… to life through aerial arts, acrobatics, juggling, prop manipulation, movement, and dance.” $20.
