The Yale Schola Cantorum, a chamber choir specializing in sacred music from the 1500s onward, began releasing a series of seasonal song recordings in December. According to the schedule, the series finishes today with Benjamin Britten’s arrangement of “A New Year Carol.” Cue it up via Youtube or Facebook.

Lehman, editors of the recently published anthology New England Nature: Centuries of Writing on the Wonder and Beauty of the Land. The book’s contents include essays by historical figures of note, from Nathaniel Hawthorne to WEB DuBois to Lydia Sigourney to Mark Twain to James Mars, who spent the early part of his life as a slave in Connecticut.

The first farmers market of CitySeed’s annual winter season—a “walk-through socially distanced” affair this year—runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Conte West Hills Magnet School (511 Chapel St, New Haven). In the past, the Winter Market has offered farm-fresh greens, root veggies, mushrooms, apples, cider, meats, eggs, cheeses, jams and more. Signing up for a 20-minute time slot is encouraged among those planning to attend between 10 and 11 a.m.—the busiest hour of the day, according to organizers, when traffic could otherwise exceed pandemic limits.
