N ew Haven’s parking garages don’t just have elevators; they are elevators. From their bases, they raise the city’s gaze. From their roofs, they lift its perspective.

The average New Havener has no better means of getting so elevated. Unlike most of the city’s other tall buildings, you don’t need an employee ID or high-rise apartment key to reach the summits of most parking garages. And unlike most rooftops, garages’ are as functional as any other part of the structure. They’re meant to be used.
So, every once in a while, go ahead and use them. Elevate yourself to their peaks, and find a heightened appreciation for your city.
