The next Folk at the Edge concert in Edgewood Park stars “force-of-nature vocalist” Maggie Rose, who’s opened for Heart and toured with Kelly Clarkson among her many engagements with famous acts. Tonight she’s the headliner, with openers Them Vibes and Dylan Hartigan. Tickets cost $25, with “VIP Party Pods” “positioned in prime locations” available for nearly the same price per person.

At 8 p.m. in the back room of The Trinity Bar & Restaurant (157 Orange St, New Haven), local comic Josh Levinson hosts a comedy show featuring sets by six other Connecticut comedians—Tricia D’Onofrio, Sophia Florence, Dame FK, Brooke Louellen Smith, Stefano Sanzo and Darren Sechris—for just $10.

The 5th Annual Charles Island Music Festival offers an enticing prospect: “a gorgeous day on the waters of Long Island Sound, just off the shores of Charles Island” near Milford’s Silver Sands State Park, with live music performed on “a floating stage” from 11 a.m. to 6, all “free of charge.” The catch? You probably need a boat—or at least an invitation to climb aboard someone else’s.

From noon to 2, the Institute Library (847 Chapel St, New Haven; 203-562-4045) hosts a meet-and-greet with Monica Ong, the artist behind the library’s current Planetaria exhibition, inviting guests to “learn about the animals of the Chinese night sky and its constellations that inspired Monica’s visual poetry.” Free.

Stetson Library’s final Stetson on the Street event of the summer promises “socially distanced music, dance contests, hula-hooping, arts and crafts, raffles, story times, and more” from 1 to 3 p.m. in the library’s rear parking lot (200 Dixwell Ave, New Haven). “Masks required.”
