Thanks to a wind-chill factor in the teens, the crowd at Sunday’s Greater New Haven St. Patrick’s Day Parade was smaller than usual.

Fleeing Famine at Knights of Columbus Museum

You wouldn’t have known it from watching the paraders, though. Both the Revolutionary War and the Star Wars reenactors made strong impressions. The parade queens in shiny tiaras tirelessly waved and smiled. The drum lines had their lines down pat for St. Pat.

It was a once-a-year chance to let their freak and other flags fly, and that wind-chilled weather had them flapping.
