Layer Up

B aby, it’s cold outside.

For you and me, that means new layers—coats over fleeces, scarves under hats, long johns-padded pants.

For the cityscape, winter weather doesn’t mean as much. It wears its layers all the time—planes of red and orange brick, glinting glass and metal and mealy grayish concrete.

But you and I can still mix and match them. We just have to try on new vantage points, and see what fits.
